course is equivalent to the previous course YR222211 YR1 Opportunity creation and assessment.
This course focuses on ideation, business opportunities, evaluation of opportunities and enteprising behaviour of students. Themes are discussed and learned from a theoretical point of view and practiced in a course setting.
Upon completion of the course, you: 1) will understand what an entrepreneurial opportunity is and how it differs from an idea; 2) are familiar with the opportunity identification or creation processes; 3) are able to evaluate feasibility of entrepreneurial opportunities; 4) know how to develop opportunities and start acting upon them; 5) will have developed deeper understanding of the importance and applicability of enterprising behavior to own life in different contexts (e.g. work, family, leisure).
The course comprises of exercises and independent learning. Participation in classroom work, assignments, case studies and conducting pre-assignments are expected. The course includes an intensive week with an 8 h group assignment and 3h seminar with group presentations. Participation in the intensive week is mandatory due to ongoing group work. There is no formal exam but a self-reflection report of the intensive week and final presentations.

The grade is formulated based on pre-assignments, active participation and an individual self-reflection report.
