course is equivalent to the previous course YR222211 YR1 Opportunity creation and assessment.
n this course, we will focus on ideation, business opportunities, evaluation of opportunities, and enterprising behaviour. We will discuss these themes from a theoretical point of view, practice the themes in a course setting, and reflect upon the theory and experiences to gain a deeper learning experience.
After completing the course, you: 1) will understand what an entrepreneurial opportunity is and how it differs from an idea. 2) are familiar with the opportunity discovery and creation processes. 3) are able to evaluate feasibility of entrepreneurial opportunities. 4) will know how to develop opportunities and start acting upon them 5) will have developed deeper understanding of the importance and applicability of enterprising behavior to your own life in different contexts (e.g. work, family, leisure).
The course comprises of independent learning and exercises. You will participate to classroom work, assignments, case studies and will conduct pre-assignments. The course includes an intensive week with an 8 h team assignment and 3h seminar with team presentations. Participation in the intensive week is mandatory due to ongoing team work. There is no formal exam. Your grade is formulated based on weekly pre-assignments, active participation and an individual self-reflection report.
Interactive lectures (such as team exercises, discussions, case studies, drama), intensive work in teams, team presentations, reflection. **Autumn semester 2020, period II (26 October - 6 December 2020)** The course in arranged as integrated into degree studies and lectures take place during the day (Mon-Fri, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m). Course will be organised as an online-version (including online meetings, independent work and team-work) due to ongoing pandemic.
