Corporate (social) responsibility is the main framework for companies to respond to the global challenges and uneven development and to either reactively or proactively shape their reputation. (See further information on the course web page.)
After the course, students will be expected to: - Be familiar with the basic concepts of corporate (social) responsibility and how it continues to evolve in the increasingly globalized world - Understand the content and aims of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (hereafter, the SDGs) - Identify the future opportunities and possible challenges facing the company practices across the globe using the SDGs in shaping the corporate strategies and operations
The course consists of forum discussions, online lectures and written assignments in Moodle-environment. Instruction and materials are in English. Assignments can also be done in Finnish.

The course is part of the Finnish Universities' Partnership for International Development (UniPid) co-operation. **Spring semester 2021 - Summer period 2021, periods IV-V (15 March - 20 July 2021)** The course in arranged as integrated into degree studies. The course assessment comprises 3 individual literature assignments that are graded 0-5 as well as a lecture diary that is fail/pass. The final grade is a weighted average of the assignment grades where the final essay weights x2. All assignments need to be of passing grades.
