Sisältö
JOS6 Firms in Sustainability Transitions course takes as its focus companies' transitions toward sustainable strategies and business models. The aim of the course is to provide an understanding why and how societies, in particular business sectors, need to and can transition toward sustainability. The course provides an opportunity to delve into scholarly debate on critical issues of sustainability, business sustainability and sustainable change. The course participants will be familiar with the most recent and relevant interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary academic publications related to the topic, which they can further employ in other contexts, such as a master's thesis and future careers.
Osaamistavoitteet
The course bears three learning objectives. For one, course participants will learn to read, interpret, and further employ academic articles related to business sustainability. For another, course participants will have the opportunity of applying these learnings into practice via company and sector-based case assignments, completed in teams. Third, course participants will have the opportunity of reflecting on the question of sustainability agency - whose role and responsibility is sustainability in businesses and firms?
