Learning outcomes

Student can describe structural, dynamical, chemical and dark matter differences between elliptical, spiral and dwarf galaxies. Student can describe the significance of the mergers, interactions for the evolution of galaxies. Student can explain relation between black holes and nuclei activity. Student can estimate masses of galaxy clusters.

The student can explain Friedmann's cosmological model as the basis for study of the evolution and matter-energy contents of the universe. She/He can use Friedmann's model as an instrument to make a variety of cosmological calculations. He/She can explain the basic structure formation theory of the universe starting from initial quantum fluctuations through different cosmic epochs. Student can explain formation of the cosmic microwave radiation and it's theoretical and observational significance.
