Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: A2-B1

General description

The course concentrates on developing vocabulary and communicational skills.

Learning outcomes

After the course the student should be able to understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters. He/she will understand texts that consist mainly of high frequency everyday or job-related language. The student can describe e.g. experiences and events and he/she can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans as well. The student can write simple connected texts on the below mentioned topics.


The course will cover reading, listening, writing and speaking e.g. with the following themes: studies at university; work in different areas; Finnish culture and celebrations. Also newspaper articles on actual topics will be read. The students will have to give short presentations of their own topics OR to participate in an oral test. At the end of the course a written test will be held.
