The overall purpose of the course is to introduce the student to basic vocabulary, concepts, and methods of research in information systems (social sciences). The course is designed to assist students in developing skills necessary to design and execute their master's thesis research. The general part of the course covers the following topics: principles and ethical issues in scientific research; research process; different kind of research methods, and principles of using mixed methods.
The exercises will cover various issues related to writing a master's thesis, including crafting a research plan, data collection, data analysis, etc.
