Learning outcomes

The security of information systems is vital in current business environment. Critical information must be kept securely in the organization and organisational information systems have to be continuously operating, in order to survive in the competitive environment. The student will learn the basics of information security management of an organization, how organisations manage and plan for information systems continuity and management etc. Students will also learn to solve practical problems related to these topics in case discussion sessions, where both real and fictional cases are used.

Passing the course requires active participation on lectures and case discussions. Lecture and literature part is graded weekly with miniexams. Case discussions will be graded on the basis of preparation and discussion activity. The student has to get 50 % of the points (on both lecture+literature and case discussion parts) in order to pass the course. Some of the cases that will be used on the course may have to be purchased from Harvard Business School Publishing (2012 cost $8).
