Learning outcomes

This course gives students an overview of sports business. In addition, students will study different business opportunities provided by sports as a business environment. The course is relevant for students interested about sports management and for those who are seeking business opportunities from sports industry.

Contents

This course focuses on sports management (e.g. leadership in sports and managing sport clubs) and sports marketing (e.g. sponsorship and brands). In addition, essential part of the course is to discuss about different entrepreneurial opportunities provided by the sports industry. Students will develop their own sport related business plan as an independent research project for the course.

Project work (business plan)

Modes of study

1. Project work (business plan, 40 % weight)
2. Written exam based on lectures and additional readings (60 % weight). It is necessary to pass the exam in order to pass the whole course.

Numeric 0-5.

Readings will be provided by the lecturer during the course.

Further information

Attendance is restricted to 30 students. In case of excess demand, TSE students majoring in Entrepreneurship have priority over others.
