Learning outcomes

Introduction to the formation and evolution of planets. Mainly an astronomical perspective but with overlap to geology, chemistry and biology.

Contents

Various steges of evolution from the collapse of an instellar cloud through the very formation of the planetary system are addressed. The early phases of planet Earth are also discussed. The evolution of the planetary system as a dynamical entity is also considered.
