Learning outcomes

The understanding of satellite orbits, their dynamics and numeric computation of the orbits.

Contents

Effects that influence satellite orbits: Potential of the Earth, gravitation by other bodies, atmospheric friction, Solar radiation pressure. Calculation methods: Solving equations by symplectic and composite methods. Solution to equations of variation. Observational determination of orbits. Optimal changes in orbits. Rotation of a satellite.
