Learning outcomes

To introduce different types and classes of binary stars.


Different classes of binaries including detached and contact main sequence binaries. cataclysmic variables. double degenerate binaries. low and high mass X-ray binaries and their subclasses. Observations at different energies (IR. optical. UV & X-rays). Observations of accretion phenomena (streams & discs). Eclipse. spectral & light curve modeling of binary stars.
