Learning outcomes

After the course the student has a basic knowlegde of the physical processes affecting the properties and evolution of stars.

Contents

Basic stellar models. Polytropes. Energy production in stars. Propagation of radiation in stars. Stellar atmospheres. Formation of spectral lines. Continuum absorptionin stars. Transfer of energy by convection. Construction of stellar models. Stellar evolution. Compact and pulsating stars. Compact binary stars.
