Learning outcomes

Student will learn and practise different lake coring techniques in harst environment.


Students will learn different coring techniques such as crust freezing coring, Livinstone piston coring, Russian peat coring, surface sampling (Limnos) in harsh environment. During the course several different types of lakes will be cored and students will learn in practice why careful coring plan is necessary in order to obtain undisturbed sediment samples for paleoecological studies.
