Learning outcomes

Recent advances in molecular technologies and theoretical approaches allow an unprecedented, detailed view on our own history. Understanding human evolution inevitably requires a profound knowledge in genetics.


The course will cover the necessary theoretical and methodological tools to comprehend the new insights into human evolution, mostly derived from genetic investigations. Moreover, the course will introduce latest findings in the field and deal with: humans as apes, archaic humans, human expansions, agriculture and domestication etc.
