BIDI1002 Intermediate course on Business Management of Start-ups 3 ECTS

In order to be able to take this course the student need to complete "BIDI0002 Introduction to innovation and business" course.

Learning outcomes

The course gives the student a basic knowledge on start-up finance and accounting, basics in entrepreneurial marketing and strategic management in order to prepare the student to be able to join to the multidisciplinary development teams in Business Development Laboratory.


Content of the lectures is divided into three parts which are: finance and accounting of start-ups (6h); start-up and growth management and strategic thinking in the context of start-ups in different fields of business (6h); basic IP-regulation in commercialization of innovations (2h).

Further information

In order to be able to start the Business Development Laboratory the non-business major students need to complete this course. This course is for non-business majors only.

To all faculties at the University of Turku. To specific Masters' Degree programme students at Åbo Akademi University. Students from Turku School of Economics can also apply for the whole study module or solely for the Business Development Laboratory course (7 ECTS).
