Learning outcomes

Students will familiarize themselves with the different research traditions related to the notion of identity. Students will learn to contextualize and apply contemporary debates on identity and difference.

Contents

Themes of identity, gender, class, sexuality, ethnicity, age and nationality in media studies. The section is taught as thematic courses relating to specific research traditions on media and identity, such as feminist or postcolonial research, queer or youth studies, studies of national media or subculture. The perspective can also be historical, conceptual or media specific.
