Learning outcomes

The object of this course is to provide state-of-art summary of the major field methods, chronological techniques, and concepts used in the study of large-scale lacustrine and marine basin analysis.

Contents

Coring and dating techniques, sediment logging, mineral magnetic methods, image-analysis and other physical and chemical methods used to track environmental change using lake and marine sediments.

Teaching methods

Lectures 16 h, one day lake coring trip and a simple practical work. The course will be given in Finnish 2011.
