Learning outcomes

After the course, a student will understand that project is a temporary organisation established to carry out an assignment and to facilitate the progress of another organisation with certain strategies and tactics. Project is about change and within a limited time frame. Student will understand that project management theories and practices to tackle projects are multiple and are case and context driven. The student will have an understanding of different project management concepts, theories and techniques.
The student will be able to define the importance of project management and present fundamental planning and scheduling techniques useful for project managers. The student will be able to understand the importance of risk assessment within project management, examining important monitoring and control tools and techniques.


Covered topics include the different knowledge areas and processes of project management as well as fundamental planning and scheduling techniques useful for project managers: such as work breakdown structures (WBS), critical path method (CPM) together with Agile Project Management and Lean Project Methods.
