Learning outcomes

The course provides students with a knowledge of the Finnish society and culture.


The course offers a sociological introduction to the Finnish society and culture. Among topics covered are multiculturalism, immigration and ethnic relations, work life, family relations, cultural production, violence, inequality, and political culture.
