Learning outcomes

The course focuses on concepts and practices such as way of life, lifestyle, and culture and leisure.

Contents

After completing this course, the students will be able to introduce issues such as structural changes in the Finnish way of life, as well as issues such as work, time use, consumption, generational differences, globalization and the ambiguity of the concept of culture. The students will understand the changing relationship between culture, economy and social structures. The aim of the course is to give students a better understanding of the interconnections between individualised lifestyles and broader societal, cultural, and economic factors.
