Learning outcomes

The student understands different thin film fabrication methods and knows how to measure magnetic and resistive properties of the films. He/she also knows how to deposit a thin film with laser ablation and analyze its surface, resistive and magnetic properties.


Thin film fabrication methods, measurement methods of magnetic and resistive properties. Laboratory work includes deposition of a thin film with pulsed laser ablation, determination of the surface structure with atomic force microscope, measurement of resistivity, and measurement of magnetic properties with a SQUID magnetometer. Use of necessary computer programs is included.
