Learning outcomes

During the course the student learns to understand quantitative business numbers, such as profit-and loss statements and balan ce sheets in real life companies. The focus is in the use of financial ratios, cash flow statements and other such figures in business assessment, business planning and other managerial situations. After the course the student is able to use financial information prepared by accounting professionals, prepare basic analyses her/himself and apply accounting information in a professional business environment.


The course is dedicated to students who need a good understanding of accounting of knowledge-intensive businesses. The course is structured to be highly interactive. A number of real world case studies are carried out.
