Learning outcomes

The objective is to obtain an advanced understanding of the theory of public expenditures of taxation, and to apply it to analyse current topics in the economics of the public sector.

Contents

The course will examine the theoretical underspinnings of microeconomic policies and applications to the distributional and incentive effects of taxation, the optimal design of the tax system and public services. The course will cover both theoretical developments as well as empirical applications.
