Learning outcomes

The student will learn to recognize legal problems and common solutions to legislative concerns triggered by the internet infrastructure. The course offers basic understanding of jurisdiction and conflicts of laws through contemporary substantive law issues, such as internet security, virtual contracting, social media networks, privacy as well as data protection.

Contents

The course offers an overview of international agreements on solving global issues as well as international guidelines (soft law) that influence national or EU internet law. Contracting practices or policy of major global or national internet service providers are also analyzed and compared. High profile court cases are contrasted and compared.
