Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students are expected to:
-comprehend more fully the various types of language used in specific marketing texts
-to have increased their ability to summarise texts
-have developed their knowledge concerning the use and importance of linguistic techniques in marketing
-produce texts suitable for a range of marketing purposes
-confidently use a wider and more extensive vocabulary

Contents

A clear appreciation of English as a marketing language is essential and this course aims to introduce students to the importance of a range of linguistic features and techniques as well as discussing many critical language features. The course is also designed to improve the student’s ability to summarise texts, and produce texts appropriate to marketing contexts.
