Learning outcomes

After the course the students will be familiar with various phenomena related to sleep and dreaming, and have an overview of how crucial sleep is to humans.

Contents

The course topics include basic sleep physiology, the evolution of sleep, theories on sleep function, and the effects of sleep deprivation. Moreover, the students will learn about the most common sleep disorders. The course also provides basic knowledge on dreaming, including methods to study dream consciousness and theories on dream function.
