Learning outcomes

The course is about scheduling algorithms. The main goal of this course is to give students acquaintance with classical results as well as most recent achievements in scheduling theory. The attendant goal of the course is to give students experience in applying obtained theoretical knowledge to practical problems.

Contents

The first part of the course gives a short introduction into the subject area, classification of scheduling algorithms and state-of-the-art methods for solving single machine, parallel machine and shop scheduling problems. The second part of the course is devoted to advance scheduling problems discussed in the more recent literature such as scheduling problems with due dates, project scheduling and vehicle routing problems.
