General description

This course gives a general view about laboratory animals and gives skills for handling them as well as for performing procedures. Passing this course gives competence to perform experimental procedures to mice. In addition, one of the aims is to familiarise students with the blood and tissue sampling and preparation of histological samples.

Learning outcomes

The course complies with the laboratory animal legislation as part of the curriculum and aims to teach handling of laboratory animals. It is a prerequisite for independent work with experimental animals in scientific research.
