Learning outcomes

The course aims to give students a deeper understanding of the broad range scientific questions that can be studied in natural populations, the molecular and analytical methodologies used to study them and an introduction to their applications in society.

Contents

The main topics covered in the lectures include population genetics, phylogeography, molecular ecology, ecological genomics and evolutionary applications. Students also give 1-2 presentation about these topics.

This course is compulsory for students planning to specialize in evolutionary biology. Sign up for the course in nettiopsu.utu.fi.Course will be given if at least 6 students sign up for the course and no more than 12 students can be taken to the course.
