General description

Advanced level lecture course suitable for biology, biochemistry and medical students.

Learning outcomes

Understanding various forms of recombination reactions and their uses for research and applied purposes.

Contents

Lectures include: Essential features of the structures of nucleic acids, protein-DNA complexes as mediators of recombination reactions, DNA topology, homologous recombination, site-specific recombination, DNA transposition and integration reactions, telomerase, advanced genome engineering using recombination reactions, gene therapy requirements and problems.
