Learning outcomes

At the end of the course students are able to (1) be aware of the relevance of culture in management (2) identify, analyze and compare different levels and scopes of culture, and (3) have comprehensive understanding on how these cultures affect international business activities.


The course familiarizes student with theories and concepts related to culture such as organizational culture, intra-national regional culture, national culture and global culture. Understanding of these theories and concepts forms a basis for students to capture the business environment from cultural perspective and apply culture as a business strategy. In addition, students will learn how interaction between different levels and units of culture affects international business activities.

The grade of the course is based on a book exam. The reading materials will be assigned depending on the credit amount (either 2 credits or 4 credits).
