YH000022 HOPS Personal Study Plan 0 ECTS
Organised by

Learning outcomes

After making the personal study plan (HOPS) and scheduling the studies, the students will understand the degree structure and are able to perceive the degree as a whole. The aim is that the students are able to plan their studies taking into consideration the target completion time of the degree, and that they know how to update the personal study plan independently.

The students pursuing a Master s degree must, right after obtaining the study right, plan a degree structure and make a personal study plan (HOPS) which also includes possible supplementary studies.

The personal study plans are checked which ensures that the students understand the degree structure and are able to update the plan independently later. Making the personal study plan is obligatory, and the students will receive a credit mark after the completion of the personal study plan. The credit mark will be recorded in Nettiopsu.

The personal study plan is created in the electronic study plan application (eHOPS): https://nettiopsu.utu.fi/hops. The students who are only pursuing a Master s degree must make the personal study plan right in the beginning of their studies in a specifically instructed manner.

There is a lot of guidance available to support the drafting of the personal study plan. The Office for Academic and Student Affairs and the Master s Degree Programme Coordinators offer assistance together with HOPS-contact persons. The students are advised to use the available services as much as possible.
