Learning outcomes

The student will learn the elementary technologies related to the production of recombinant antibodies. After the course, the student also knows the most import applications of the recombinant antibodies and understands the advantages of the recombinant antibody technologies as compared to the traditional methods of antibody generation.


The topics of the course include directed evolution techniques (random mutagenesis methods and protein display techniques), the types and use of recombinant antibody libraries as well as the ways of generating recombinant antibodies. Applications and advantages of recombinant antibodies in diagnostics and medicine are also described.
