Learning outcomes

After attending the course students have learned about the significance of value in the business context. Students will be able to understand and explain the process of value creation. They can also analyse and design business models to create, deliver and capture value. The course is relevant to those students who are interested in learning about the core commonalities between entrepreneurship, marketing and strategic management.

Contents

This online course takes an integrative approach to business functions of the firm to create value. During the course students will examine the process of value creation, especially the value the customers gain, the value the firms gain and how the value is exchanged between the firms and the customers. Students will also familiarize with the concept of business model as a way to describe how firms try to build a competitive advantage through creating, delivering and capturing value. The course utilizes Moodle as an online learning platform and contains reading a set of articles, preparing mini essays, reviewing fellow students mini essays and analyzing a company case.

Further information

Attendance is restricted to 20 students. In case of excess demand, TSE students majoring in Entrepreneurship have priority over others.
