Preceding studies
Basic studies in commercial and contract law are recommended as previous studies. Prior work experience with contracts is recommendable.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student understands the basic objectives and activities of contract management. The student has also gained basic understanding of contract managers' work regarding the management of customer and supplier relationships, risks and opportunities, contractual obligations, contract changes, and information flow. By developing his/her knowledge and skills, the student acquires competences that he/she will be able to apply to contracting in practice.


The topics will cover:
- An introduction to contract management
- Basic objectives and activities of contract management and contract managers' work during contract's lifecycle

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

A case study exercise to be completed by the first lecture, a structured learning diary with assignments, participation in classroom work and exercises.

Recommended year of study

3 year onwards.

Study materials

A case study exercise is handed over to students 2 weeks prior to lectures. All study materials are to be found in Moodle and/or given out during contact teaching.

This course will be offered only during the academic year 2017-2018.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Participation is limited to 20 students. 1/3 of the places is reserved for the degree students of the Faculty of Law. For the remaining places, the following criteria will be used to select the participants:
1. exchange students of the TLS cooperative institutions
2. degree students of the TLS cooperative institutions
3. other law students
4. non-law students
