Learning outcomes

After the course students will have a good understanding of some of the computational challenges arising from biology and biotechnology and will be able to apply a number of algorithms to solve them. They will also have a good understanding of several computational modeling, simulation, and analysis techniques for biology.

Contents

This course aims to introduce the students to the fields of computational and systems biology. The course will review some of the computational problems arising in connection to genome mapping, genome sequencing, and sequence comparison. It will also review a number of techniques on computational modeling and simulation in biology.
