Learning outcomes

Student learns how to use different sample pretreatment methods and chromatographic instruments in food chemistry related analyses. Also student knows how to interpret, analyze and report results according to good scientific practices.

Contents

Applications in gas and liquid chromatography and making reports. Analysis of food and food raw materials in relation to research, development and quality control. Basics of method development and optimization. Restrictions related to techniques such as sample preparation, selecting solvents and making derivatives. Special properties of sample matrices and analytes related to food analysis. Practical problem solving. Before and after practical works common meetings will be held.
