Learning outcomes

The student understands the basics of the most important energy concepts in biochemistry and has been introduced to the concept of chemical equilibrium. Furthermore, the student understands the basics of biological energy conversion in photosynthesis and the other most important pathways of energy metabolism.

Contents

The lectures describe the concepts of energy, introduce photosynthesis and its regulation, discuss chloroplast as a cell organelle and light adaptation. The research methods of photosynthesis are discussed from chlorophyll fluorescence to proteomics.
