Learning outcomes

The student understands the structure of the modern cosmological concordance model and is able to perform basic calculations using it. The student is familiar with concepts of cosmic expansion, nucleosynthesis, cosmic inflation, Recombination and photon decoupling, dark matter and energy, and cosmological phase transitions.

Contents

The thermal history of the universe; phase transitions. The concordance model, the universe without inflation, inflation, nucleosynthesis, recombination and decoupling, dark energy and dark matter.
