General description

This course is based on lectures held by leading experts and researchers. The goal of the course is to provide the students with various points of view on the relations of the European Union with its neighboring areas, various interpretations of "Europe" and European identity. It aims at presenting contending visions and definitions of Europe, as well as introducing the students to various aspects of the European Union's foreign relations and to the problematic of Europe’s relations with figures of the "Other"

Modes of study

80% compulsory attendance + a 8-10 pages learning diary (there is no written exam in this course). The learning diary is a written assignment that can be compared to an essay with an additional focus on the student's learning process. Additional reading specified by the lecturers should be used as supporting material for the learning diary.
