PSKT2005 Psychiatry 5 op

General description

Introduces students to concepts of brain-behavior relationship; sheds light on some major psychiatric disorders, their prevalence and major challenges in modern psychiatry diagnostics.

Learning outcomes

After completing the Psychiatry for Neuroscientists students will gain knowledge on the basics of brain-behavior relationship, neuropsychiatric methodologies and various neuropsychiatric syndromes.

Further information on prerequisites and recommendations

Participation is free to all students from UTU and ÅA including doctoral students.
It is recommended that students who take this course would ideally have at least some basic knowledge in the field of neuroscience, therefore it is advised students complete an Invitation to Neuroscience course or equivalent.

Teaching methods

19 x lectures 2h (1.5) = (38h), in addition about 97h of independent work is recommended, including reading of the suggested literature ( ~ 300p)
