Learning outcomes

The student understands the significance of metamorphic processes and learns to interpret the metamorphic events based on the mineralogical and structural changes of the rocks.


Metamorphic reactions in various rock types, metamorphic microstructures, phase diagrams, correlation of the metamorphic events with plate-tectonic processes. Metamorphic characteristics of the Fennoscandian Shield.
