Learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student is familiar with the state-of-the-art R&D in the field of interaction design (IxD), with their own contributions to the area: MSc thesis and a set of peer-reviewed papers. The student has also developed their written and oral presentation skills, and established their identity as an academically trained interaction design professional. Moreover, the student has got linkages to the application of IxD in industry.

Contents

The course is based on the contemporary academic and professional material in and related to IxD.

The course gathers once a month during the study year.

Student presentations, invited visiting scholars' lectures, field trips.

Reviewing academic literature and professional materials in IxD, preparing peer-reviewed papers, giving and commenting upon presentations, participation in debates, workshops and meetings with users of modern IxD in industry, schools, NGOs, writing research proposals. The learning process is followed up by a learning portfolio, on the ViLLE platform.

The seminar is a roundtable of IxD graduate students and researchers.

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 0-5.
The students need to attend to seminar 15 times. The student starts the course at the beginning of their MSc studies
