Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide a deeper understanding in central basic diagnostic technologies, principles and applications as they are found in modern state-of-art diagnostic systems. Special consideration will be given to emerging technologies serving new trends in diagnostics. A successfully completed course should enable the student to extract the latest findings from the scientific literature relating to the various fields of analytical biotechnology.

Contents

The course is divided into five major areas: Highly sensitive reporter technologies and applications, technologies providing highly dense and bioactive solid phases, novel / optimized bio-affinity binders, non-separation or homogenous assay concepts, multiplexing assay approaches.
