Learning outcomes

The student is able to conduct more independent studies in the laboratory with the instructions from the supervisor. The student is able to make conclusions from the results and report the results in an oral presentation and in a written report in scientific style. In addition, the student is introduced to the research done at biotechnology division.

Contents

The student works for 3 weeks in a research project related to biotechnology. The student gives an oral presentation of 15 min in a "Show & Tell" seminar and writes a scientific report.

Teaching methods

Independent work.

The student receives a list of project contact persons from the University Lecturer in Molecular Biotechnology and Diagnostics. The student contacts the contact person of the research project to arrange the time and topic of the 3 week project. After the work, the student will sign up for a seminar to give a presentation and writes an article style report. The report has to be corrected if required by the University Lecturer. The student has to attend 2 seminars (1 seminar as a speaker, 1 seminar in the audience). It is recommended that the projects are of different subjects to give the student a chance to learn various skills. Prior to starting the 3 week work the student needs to file a work plan to the University Lecturer. The work plan can be found from Moodle.
