Learning outcomes

Basic concepts of NMR and the initial steps before measurements, the most common one- and two-dimensional multiple pulse experiments, exploitation of coupling constants in structural analysis, dynamic NMR, skill of recording on NMR instrument.

Contents

The course gives an introduction to modern one- and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy and its applications. Accordingly, the course includes the basic concepts of NMR and the initial steps before measurements, the most common one- and two-dimensional multiple pulse experiments, a survey to coupling constants, dynamic NMR and other more sophisticated methods. Some interpretation examples are also included as well as an introduction to common NMR softwares. The mathematical description of NMR is shortly introduced. Also practical aspects of Bruker Avance NMR instruments will be discussed and hands-on instrument demonstrations are included.
