Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to familiarise students with various kinds of radioactivity disintegration and to familiarise students with separation and detection techniques.


The lectures deal with various types of radionuclides and their disintegration processes, detectors suitable for various types of radiation and furthermore in the statistics of radioactivity disintegration and measurement. Radiochromatographic methods, including the use of mass spectrometry, are presented with the aim of demonstrating their utility in radiochemistry research. Practical work is included in the course.
