Learning outcomes

The course deepens the knowledge on synthetic methods used in different fields of materials chemistry. The student understands typical experimental procedures and can evaluate which synthetic procedures to use when aiming different materials.

Contents

The subjects discussed include the preparation of typical molecular precursors and their use in the preparation of solid materials. The synthetic approaches described here are sol-gel process, solid-state reactions, solvothermal methods, crystal growth and syntheses of nanocrystalline products.
