Learning outcomes

The student understands the phenomena behind luminescence in inorganic materials and knows how to affect luminescence properties. The student knows how to make luminescence measurements with different setups.

Contents

Basics of luminescence, luminescence of lanthanide and d transition metal ions , up-conversion luminescence, persistent luminescence, stimulated luminescence. Laboratory work.
